Some things that have happened before and what we did about it:
- user 0 record is missing from database - INSERT a new one into the users table
- out of disk space - purge database logs as needed
- request flood from a specific IP address - block address
- modules screen is white - remove unnecessary modules, increase memory allocation
- users can't log in - clear browser cookies may fix for user, but see Drupal.org for server-based solutions. Much discussed issue on Drupal.org
- system slowdown - purge sessions and watchdog tables as needed
- spammers - use moderator tools to quickly remove users and content. adjust custom code in user module to automatically moderate suspicious activity based on IP address ranges and content patterns.

- make a user version of this page for individual issues (e.g., can't log in)
