Some Basics

Here is our current setup and situation.

We have three servers: production, database and staging.

We run the following on production:

• ourmedia.org - main site, Drupal 4.6
• channels.ourmedia.org - based on organic groups, Drupal 5.1
• tools.ourmedia.org - based on drupal_wiki profile, Drupal 5.1
• dev.ourmedia.org - not used at this time

For now, each site has it's own database served by a single database server.

We also have the following on staging:

• staging.ourmedia.org - sandbox for ourmedia.org and Drupal 4.6
• nextgen.ourmedia.org - test for channels and Drupal 5.1

Each of these uses a sandbox mysql database.
