We've started to use twitter to report updates to Ourmedia. Follow along if you like.
Here's a link to the history: twitter history.
Some recent changes to ourmedia.org
- New tabs for portfolio, links and blog inside of
- New add reels, add showcase to portfolio
- New producer directory
- New registration page
- Remove limit of 50 from user media lists
- fix tags in ia and ourmedia modules, which rely on taxonomy and taxonomy_otf modules. Also cleaned up terms records in database to a small degree (it could use much more).
- fix for missing CC licence
- add <link> meta tag to user profile and media pages for media rss feeds
- add rel='license' to license links
- add rel='tag' to keywords
- add rel='home' in menus
- add rel='enclosure' to media links.
- experimenting with rounded corners (see http://ourmedia.org/producers/welcome)
I've added some new features to support the notions of enhanced producer profiles and reels for a profile showcase.
More details coming soon. Check out my profile for a preview.
This is all triggered by checking the "I'm a producer" box in your profile on Ourmedia.org (not here).

Some folks have been asking lately about how we display the media on the the home page of ourmedia.org. Here is the file that does that. It is just a PHP script, not even Drupal specific (although we keep it in our theme). I am working to replace this with the emfield module. The main value of this old code is that it contains embed information for quite a few types, all in one example.
This is part I of an example showing how to place tabs in a post
I added two new fields to the Ourmedia.org user profile.
The new fields are on the "Professional Profile" tab when you edit your profile.

Hey! Big ups and thanks to Sean Effel for putting on the the most recent Drupal Therapy workshop in San Francisco and inviting our executive director JD Lasica. JD said it was very helpful and he wished he had taken it years ago when he co-founded Ourmedia. Thanks Sean!

I turned on the Drupal "bookmark" module and you can now save bookmarks under your Ourmedia account. This is really handy for marking cool media that you find. To use this, just go to your account profile and check "User bookmarks".
Someone asked today if they could have separate feeds for each media type. That's easy, so you can now specify media types (audio, video, text, image):
There were lots of support emails today around archive.org outages, I had to push through a number of uploads as an archive admin but they all seem to have finished now.
I also put in major updates for single signon. There's still lots of testing needed, but the main components are up and running on the production systems. The end result is that people should be able to cleanly login or out once to access all of our systems. Soon we hope to extend this to include SpinXpress.com in a way similar to how we handle archive.org accounts (we actually, like to do better than that, but that will take some time until we have implemented OpenID - coming in Drupal 6!).
